Understanding Intrapreneurial Best Practices for leading change and developing a growth mindset

THE CHALLENGE

The client is the Technology wing of an American insurance organization and is keen on kicking off a D&I agenda formally in the year 2020. They had set up an Employee Resource Group (ERG) and also identified the specific talent groups they would like to work on. However, members of the ERG were not well versed with the topic and the need was felt to provide them with an orientation to the subject and its practical applications to ensure a common understanding amongst the group and to enable a more informed planning process.

THE SOLUTION

Unfold worked towards understanding the client’s innovation drivers, cultural context, business direction, existing constraints and future ambitions. We then held an exclusive and interactive session for 50+ leaders and stakeholders who are involved in their business and innovation agenda. The session involved insights from the research that Unfold had done on Intrapreneurial best practices, business case of intrapreneuring, Unfold’s 4 P framework, stages of intrapreneuring and organization maturity with an additional focus on practices from a few key organizations that they were looking to benchmark with.

OUTCOMES

The objective was to build a common understanding of intrapreneurship, its value to organizations, and relevance for the client’s business. Considering the client was a captive, we showed them how to overcome constraints of their operating model and adopt intrapreneurship as a key strategy to build an internal climate for change and value creation.
